Questions, answered
Does Preenshot upload my screenshots?
No. Capturing, editing, text recognition and redaction all happen on your Mac. Preenshot uploads an image only when you click Share with Preenshot Cloud, and then only that image. The app has no analytics or tracking.
How does automatic redaction work?
Apple's Vision framework reads the text in your screenshot on-device. Preenshot then looks for emails, phone numbers, card numbers, IBANs, API keys and tokens, and IP addresses. You review what it found, and one click redacts everything you selected. Redaction permanently replaces the pixels with solid color or a coarse, noisy mosaic, so it can't be "un-blurred". Always give the result a quick look before you share.
Why the Mac App Store?
Apple handles payment, receipts and updates, and Preenshot runs in Apple's App Sandbox. Install it on every Mac signed in with your Apple ID without entering license keys.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple, so refunds go through Apple too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Do I need Preenshot Cloud?
No. Copy, save and drag-and-drop work without it. Cloud is an optional $7.99/month subscription for share links, with a 3-day free trial. Cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
Can I delete a shared link?
Yes, anytime, from the app. The image is deleted from storage right away. Cached copies can take a few minutes to disappear from the network, and we can't recall copies other people already downloaded.
